Ellen Overweel

Ellen Overweel is a music advisor at Cultuurfonds, the private fund that receives funding from the Vriendenloterij and donors, among others. Ellen supervises the Music Advisory Committee and the Music Grants Committee at the national office of Cultuurfonds. As a result, she is involved in more than 300 applications each year. She is also secretary of the Cultuurfonds Pop Stipendium and the Rogier van Otterloo Award. Both awards come with a cash prize of €10,000. The Cultuurfonds has an annual budget of 40 million. In the field of music, it supports festivals such as Gaudeamus, Rewire and O, and productions by (young) makers such as Remy van Kesteren, Andrea Voets and Kika Sprangers. The Cultuurfonds provides music grants and is involved in various projects for young talent (including Jong Metropole, Prinses Christina Concours and the National Jeugd Jazz Orkest).
