Slavo Krekovic

Splits his official identity into being a musician and sound artist, musicologist, contemporary music and new media art curator and cultural organiser. Studied Musicology in Bratislava and Sonology in The Hague. From 2013 to 2017, he was the Head of the Multimedia study programme at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Brno University of Technology. Editor-in-Chief and publisher of the 3/4 cultural magazine, co-founder and Artistic Director of independent cultural centre A4 – Space of Contemporary Culture in Bratislava and NEXT Festival of Advanced Music.

Established 2000 in Bratislava, the NEXT Festival is an annual celebration of exploratory music and sonic art: from electronic experiments and free­form improvisation to audio­visual projects, it brings together artists who push the boundaries. The festival is focusing predominantly on innovative musicians who are both composers and performers of their music.
