Buma Classical Award 2026: Joey Roukens
Joey Roukens receives the Buma Classical Award. The Schiedam-born composer is among the most frequently performed Dutch composers of his generation. His music is performed by leading orchestras in the Netherlands and abroad and is characterised by a personal blend of classical traditions, minimalism, jazz and pop influences. On the Dag van de Componist, his Violin Concerto Out of the Deep will be performed by Simone Lamsma and the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra.
Buma Classical Lifetime Achievement Award: Huba de Graaff
The Buma Classical Lifetime Achievement Award goes to Huba de Graaff. Since the 1980s, she has built a highly distinctive body of work in which opera, electronics and experimental music theatre converge. Her latest opera, Qaqnas, recently premiered at the Holland Festival. During Dag van de Componist, her exhibition Electrina’s will be on view at PARK Tilburg, while her City Song will be performed during the Amsterdam Amstel Station Concert.
