In Harmony: Composers and Creators on the Future of Music Theatre

Following the successful first working session NL Muziektheater NU, initiated by Nieuw Geneco and the Nederlandse Opera, you can join the follow-up during New Music Conference. Composers, artistic directors and stage directors to an inspiring session on contemporary Dutch music theatre. What lessons can we take away from the working session? What does this era demand, both artistically and practically? What are the dos and don’t’s for coming up with a workable plan? How can composers and artistic decision-makers inspire and strengthen each other? How and when do you pitch yourself as a composer when acquiring a new commission for a music theatre production? An attempt will be made to clarify the often complex processes of decision-makers in the field for composers and their representatives.
